School Trustee Elections 2026
In October 2026, communities across British Columbia will elect School Trustees to serve on local Boards of Education. School Trustees are elected representatives who help guide the direction of public education in their communities.
If you are interested in learning more about the role or considering running for trustee, this page will provide information, resources, and updates as they become available.
Thinking About Running for School Trustee?
Serving as a School Trustee is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to public education in our community. Trustees work together to:
- Set the strategic direction for the school district
- Approve policies and budgets
- Support student success and well-being
- Represent the voice of the community in public education
- Advocate for public education
No prior experience in education is required. What matters most is a commitment to community service and student success.
