Grades 10-12

64GO offers online academic and elective courses leading toward high school graduation

64GO supports different groups of learners in our grade 10-12 program: 

  1. Full-time school-aged students - Students who wish to access a full suite of course offerings applicable to their graduation program and goals. 64GO is their only school. 
  2. Dual-enrolled and part-time students - Students enrolled at another SD64 school who take one or more courses through 64GO.
  3. Adult Learners -Students completing their graduation requirements or graduated learners upgrading one or more courses. For more information see our Adult Learners page.

Program Snapshot

  • All students will complete a Student Learning Plan in consultation with a teacher before accessing our online courses.  
  • Students will have one year to complete their course working at their own pace. 64GO students are independent learners, able to create a realistic timeline to complete their work. 
  • All of our Grade 10-12 courses are offered online through the Brightspace learning platform. 
  • Online courses can be completed anytime and any place as long as you have access to the internet. 
  • Students have opportunities to work with teachers face-to-face to support their online courses at The Learning Hub or online through TEAMS.

GRADUATION ASSESSMENTS

As part of the graduation program, all students are required to write three graduation assessments: Literacy 10, Numeracy 10, and Literacy 12. 

Students who are not writing these assessments elsewhere will write them at 64GO in one of the available windows provided by the Ministry of Education.

Grade 12 Literacy Assessment

The Grade 12 Literacy Assessment is a provincial assessment that assesses student proficiency in literacy.

It is a graduation requirement and is completed during students’ Grade 12 year.

The Grade 12 Literacy Assessment assesses students’ ability to use critical and reflective thinking and analysis to make meaning from a diverse array of texts. It also assesses the ability of students to communicate their ideas or those found in the texts.

Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment

The Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment is a provincial assessment that assesses student proficiency in numeracy. It is a graduation requirement and students take the assessment in their Grade 10 year.

The Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment focuses on the application of mathematical concepts learned across multiple subjects from kindergarten to Grade 10. It requires students to solve problems by using five numeracy processes (different ways of thinking and working): interpret, apply, solve, analyze and communicate.

Grade 10 Literacy Assessment

The Grade 10 Literacy Assessment is a provincial assessment that assesses student proficiency in literacy. It is a graduation requirement and students take the assessment in their Grade 10 year.

The Grade 10 Literacy Assessment assesses students' ability to use critical thinking and analysis to make meaning from a diverse array of texts. It also assesses the ability of students to communicate their ideas.

The Grade 10 Literacy Assessment is not based on a particular course, but on learning across multiple subjects, from kindergarten to Grade 10.
