All visitors and any students arriving after the bell or leaving school before the end of day are asked to sign in/out at the administration desk.
Regular attendance has a positive impact on student achievement, engagement and connection to the school community. Salt Spring Elementary participates in the Safe Arrival Program. Calls will be made home for any student not present when the attendance is taken each day.

Maintaining attendance records is a ministry-mandated, legal responsibility. Ensuring that students’ attendance records are accurate involves input on several levels. SSE believes that student attendance is a shared responsibility for students, parents/guardians, teachers and school administrators.
